Interaction and Relations with the Diplomatic Corps in Tokyo

In Tokyo there are currently over 150 embassies and representative offices of countries and regions around the world. The Tokyo government engages in various activities to build ties and strengthen relationships with them.

Information session for the diplomatic corps

Ambassadors and representatives are invited to an event held about once a year in order to introduce Tokyo's policies to them and deepen their understanding of the city's initiatives.

Tokyo Ambassadors Night (held on January 25, 2017, with 155 participants from 97 missions)

Tokyo Networking Night (held on June 13, 2017, with 44 participants, including 36 from 30 missions)

TMG Disaster Management Seminar

To strengthen ties with embassies and representative offices in Tokyo with respect to supporting foreign nationals in times of disaster, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government holds a seminar for the officers in charge of disaster management to explain measures that will be taken by the TMG when a disaster occurs and to reinforce channels of communication.
